Global Growth Rates

Following are the projected growth rates for 2015, as compiled by The Economist poll or Economist Intelligence Unit estimate/forecast, Sept. 12, 2015.

United States +2.4%
Canada +1.4%
Mexico +2.5%
Brazil -1.9%

Euro Area +1.4%
France +1.1%
Germany +1.7%
Italy +0.6%
Spain +3.0%
Netherlands +1.8%
Greece +0.5%

Britain +2.5%
Russia -3.6%

Japan +0.8%
China +6.9%
South Korea +2.6%
Australia +2.4%
India +7.5%

Source: The Economist

Again, these are full-year estimates. Taken as a whole, it’s clear there simply isn’t a lot of growth, worldwide, especially given the deep recession we all went through. Growth should be much stronger coming out of it, but it hasn’t been.

Wall Street History will return in two weeks.
